Chancellor's Award for Public Service
CC&S' Y-PLAN Initiative has been awarded the 2011-2012 Chancellor's Award for Public Service! The award honors The Center for Cities & Schools' five-year campus-community partnership with the City of Richmond, the West Contra Costa Unified School District and LISC Bay Area to engage UC Berkeley student "mentors" and high school youth in authentic community development projects to build a healthy and sustainable Richmond.
Chancellor's Community Partnership Fund
The Green Schools Initiative and CC&S are awarded a UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Community Partnership Fund grant to pilot the new model Green Star Schools certification program in Berkeley and engage elementary school students in a service-learning program to “green” their school by reducing waste, pollution, energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
