Another Successful Y-PLAN Training in Sacramento!
On September 20th, 2016, the Sacramento Y-PLAN team came together to train new teachers to implement Y-PLAN in their classrooms. The training was hosted at Serna Center, the Sacramento City Unified School District headquarters. Teachers were introduced to the Y-PLAN learning and teaching strategy and participated on a Mini Y-PLAN that asked them to study the design of Serna Center and how that impacts the health of the building users, meaning SCUSD staff. Teachers also had time to work with their fellow teachers and begin planning the implementation of Fall Mini Y-PLAN Projects as well as ideas for Spring projects they would like to facilitate.

The letter highlighted the impact the students and their work had not only on the community but also on WALK Sacramento and how they conduct their community outreach now after having worked with young people.
