Another Y-PLAN Success: NYC PD Launch + Training

ByY-PLAN Team November 1, 2016April 20, 2026

The Y-PLAN NYC 2016-17 Launch + Training brought 40 educators and city leaders together on September 28th at the Kingsborough Community College campus for a day of networking and hands-on training, preparing both teacher and civic clients for Y-PLAN implementation this spring.

Highlights of the day included: Remarks from civic leaders Superintendent Prayor and Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diana Reyna, emphasizing their continued support of Y-PLAN and youth engagement; a panel of returning Y-PLAN teachers who shared their insights and experience; and proposals from civic leaders such as NYC Department of Transportation, Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence, and the Brooklyn Borough President's Office, that seek to plan healthy, vibrant cities for and with young people.
