BART Partners with Kennedy High School IT Academy

ByY-PLAN Team November 1, 2016April 20, 2026

The Human Resource team from Bay Area Rapid Transit is partnering with the Senior classes from the IT Academy at Kennedy High School to get input and ideas to improve their website and workforce outreach strategies. Beverly Scott, Prem Bajaj and May Cooper provided an informative and motivating project overview to get students excited and informed about careers at BART. Students will also use the Y-PLAN process to research and develop new ideas for BART to promote and recruit new members to their team. The students are challenged with developing multiple outreach formats including social media, website updates and advertisements in the stations.

Students will have an opportunity to visit the BART headquarters in November where they will meet with executives, engineers, new hires and learn about the technology used to make BART run. In December, students will present their findings to BART management and executive staff.
