School districts in low-income and disadvantaged areas reluctantly continue to support Proposition 2 despite its inequitable matching-grant framework, which ties funding to local property values. As many underfunded districts are in dire need of money for repairs, they feel as though they have no other avenue for funding, but the fact remains that higher-income school districts will continue to receive far more funding, further perpetuating disparities in education quality.
