Make School Planning a Priority

In the June 2014 issue of Planning Magazine, Nevada school board trustee and urban planner Candace Stowell writes, let's make public schools a priority. She cites CC+S's visionary leadership in doing so.

Stowell notes that: “What else could be more important than [working to improve public education]? Diane Ravitch, the education historian, very deliberately titled her 2010 book, The Death and Life of the Great American School System: How Testing and Choice are Undermining Education. Ravitch stated that she loved the idea of associating her book with Jane Jacobs because she hoped that 'American education, and urban educaiton in particular, might also experience a renaissance.'”
