Empowerment as Prevention: How Youth-Driven Initiatives Transform Frameworks for Change

“This study employs a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) methodology, summarizing five years of research conducted by high school student cohorts and UC Berkeley graduate students to examine effective strategies for preventing and addressing student homelessness.”

Chronicling the past five years of youth- and young-adult engaged research through the Y-HEAR-US initiative, this peer-reviewed journal article reinforces our commitment to amplify youth voice, agency, and power to create more effective and equitable education systems, especially for those who need it most.
