Public data folder & codebook

We make available the data files used in our research on school facilities funding in California. Data files are regularly updated.

Proposition 2 funding analysis

We are continually updating our analysis of Proposition 2 funding applications and awards. The tracker will download as an excel file. Please read the methods document for information about how we track applications and how we analyze funding distribution.

What’s available on facilities funding

There are several files available in our public Google Drive folder. The file date reflects the last update. Our public data codebook contains additional details about sources and file dates.

• Assessed value data:
  • assessed_value_allyears.xls: panel dataset with one record per district-year
  • district_av_2024.xls: dataset with one record per district, includes only districts active in 2024-25
• Facilities funding data:
  • facilities_district_year_panel.csv: our full panel dataset with one record per district – year pair
  • facilities_district_crosssecction.csv: dataset with one record per district, includes cumulative totals and
  • sfp_grants_detail.csv: dataset of all completed SFP grants, one record per grant
