CC+S talks Education Workforce Housing with CA State Assembly

ByCC+S Staff April 27, 2022May 1, 2025

CC+S’s Jeff Vincent presented to the California State Assembly’s Local Government Committee at their April 27, 2022 hearing on AB 2295 (Bloom) Local educational agencies: housing development projects. The bill would deem a housing development project an allowable use on any real property owned by a local educational agency, as defined, if the housing development satisfies certain conditions, including other local objective zoning standards, objective subdivision standards, and objective design review standards, as described. The bill would deem a housing development that meets these requirements consistent, compliant, and in conformity with local development standards, zoning codes or maps, and the general plan.

The bill draws from the findings in our report, Education Workforce Housing in California: Developming the 21st Century Campus.
